Bio

A native of coastal Maine, I spent my childhood listening to ballads of seafaring adventures across the briny ocean. In that spirit, I grew up to become a storyteller, crafting tales of spacefaring adventures across the starry galaxy. The Hunt for the Halifax Fox, book one of The Drift series, is a far-ranging space romp with inclusivity, cool science, and a lot of heart.

In addition to subversive space novels, I’ve authored 20 years’ worth of creative nonfiction, a collection of comics, and a secret treasure trove of bad poetry. I live in my adopted city of Louisville, Kentucky, with my partner, pets, too many houseplants, and a revolving door of overparented grown children. I use they or she pronouns. The Hunt for the Halifax Fox is my first published novel.
